Frequently Asked Questions
Does Mutant Metals ship internationally?
Yes! There are now options for shipping to Canada at checkout. These shipping options are designed around the UDA and Snap-Back Rollers. Orders that are just handles or smaller accessories may be priced higher than they need to be due to the restrictions of our website provider. We are working to find a better solution. If you would like a shipping quote to anywhere in the world please email us at mutantmetals@gmail.com.
Can the UDA and Snap-Back rollers fit metric based racks like REP and Titan?
Yes. The standard 3x3 UDA will fit both standard based racks like Rogue and Metic based racks like those from REP. If you would prefer a more snug fit, please contact us about custom fitting your UDA to a metric rack.
The Snap back rollers will require a form at checkout where you can select metric or standard based racks. Please be aware that racks listed as 5/8 holes from some companies that use metric based measurements, like those from REP and Titan, are actually 11/16 and must be selected as so for a proper fit on the Snap-Back rollers. This distinction isn’t necessary on the UDAs.
I see there is an option for 1in threading on the custom handles. Why would I choose this?
The standard thread length on all of our handles is 2.25in to properly engage with 2in tubing like the tubing used on the UDA and the 2in side of 2x3 racks. This thread length may also be necessary on other future Mutant Metals products that incorporate the handles. 1in thread is for those users that will only be using the handles on 3in tubing and want to limit thread contact with the rack or jammer arms.
Why are your lead times so long, can I pay for my order to be rushed?
lead times have always been something we have struggled with since our beginning in November 2020 during the hight of the pandemic. We are a very small 2 person team and we make most components of our products in house and currently make everything to order on manual machines. We tend to be heavily effected by supply issues and equipment breakdowns as well as events that happen within our families. We are currently doing everything we can to reduce lead times, including improving equipment/work flow, working with other local machine and fabrication shops when needed.
Major changes will be coming this year, with the help of other companies, that will reduce lead times significantly. Part of this solution will be slowly transitioning from a 100% made to order model to a in stock/ customization models where the majority of the fabrication work and machining will be done ahead of time. This will also be aided with recent access to CNC machining.
We do no like having orders arrive late as we heavily value our customer satisfaction and ultimately late orders cost us more to produce as more man hours are needed when we get behind. We are heavily motivated to fix this issue and deeply appreciate the patience of our customers as we figure these issues out while also growing into a more capable company.
We DO NOT accept payments to expedite orders as this would be unfair to already paying customers. Occasionally we have blemish units that can be shipped sooner however we tend to fix most items depending on the defect. Please follow us on Instagram and Facebook for updates on blemish units.
