The Mutant Metals Snap-Back Rollers are a new take on the classic “hockey-stick” style monolift attachment. The Snap-Back Roller uses torsion springs to launch the catch out of the way when weight is removed, allowing the lifter to start in the position of the lift off and not have to wait for gravity to accelerate a counterweight.
-The lack of a counterweight greatly reduces the overall weight of the attachment. At less than 23.5lbs a piece, they are one of the lightest monolift attachments on the market. This combined with their J-cup style construction makes them very easy to handle and install, with no tools or threads.
-The other big advantage to using springs vs a counterweight is the reversal of the catch can be initiated at any point in the swing. This gives a range of bar clearance from 0 to 5.5+ inches. Simply position the swing arm to achieve the desired level of clearance and lift, the catch will retract no matter where the bar is released.
-As home/garage gym owners we often have multiple bars, all with different shapes and diameters. This poses issues with fit and angle with some more traditional style J cups and monolift attachments. Often times these bars are loaded with many hundreds of pounds and can be difficult to move into a centered position before the start of the lift. The large roller of the Snap-Back Rollers solves both these issues. Its round shape combined with 2-1/4 inch usable space make it ideal to handle most rack-able bar diameters and make it easy to center a bar pre lift.
- The Mutant Metals Snap-Back Rollers also keep your investment in mind with total UHMW coverage for both your rack and bar. Even the rear retaining pin is made from strong composite plastic with imbedded magnets to protect the powder coat of your rack or stand alone bench. The J-Cup design with the retaining pin allow the attachments to be stored in any orientation, including horizontally, to increase the amount of available storage options.
- The Snap-Back rollers come with another trick up their sleeve; the ability to also act as a fixed forward J-cup via the use of the J-Cup adapter that is include in the base purchase price. To use the adapter, just pull the catch forward and place the adapter on the front lip of the attachment with the thick side in. You can store the J-Cup adapter backwards on the front or inside of the frame.

Product updates (V1.1): 2 piece UHMW on front is now a single strip. 11/16 pin diameter added to pin selection to accommodate REP and TITAN “5/8” hardware racks like X3 and PR-4000. Wrap around tab has be repositioned for improved rack tightness, this will not affect the posted hole spacing. Welds on the nose of the frame are now blended. Front lip wrap around covers (black) are now included standard.
