Snap-Back Roller replacement springs (set of 4)

Complete set of (4) replacement springs specifically designed for the Mutant Metals Snap-Back Rollers.

Tools needed for replacement (see pics):

  • Snap ring pliers with .047 tips

  • 1/8” Allen key

  • Hook style gasket tool (available at most hardware stores)

Spring replacement steps

1. Loosen 1/8 stainless set screws unit the current springs disengage and the set screws are flush with the inner frame body.

2. Remove a single snap ring from swing arm pivot rod, then remove pin and swing arm.

3. Install new springs on swing arm, the “hook” portion that contacts the set screw should be facing upwards and the spring coils should be resting on the upper lip of the bearings. The 90 degree bent spring leg should be inserted all the way into the swing arm.

4. Install swing arm, aligning swing arm holes with the frame holes. Insert pivot rod fully, this shouldn’t require excess force. Replace 2nd snap ring.

5. With the Allen key in the set screw, use your hook tool to pull the spring hook down past the set screw. Make sure the tip of the tool is pointed away from the frame to avoid scratching powder coat. Screw in the set screw until the head of the set screw sits just below the outside face of the frame. Repeat on the opposite spring.

Repeat steps 1-5 on the second attachment.
